NoMad is an Island depicts a panoply of robots moving along a map of their own making while writing down the world. User driven robots appeared and re-appeared in various locations in Linz, Austria with real time video-capture sent to monitors. Images were projected in each environment, giving clues to their identities as avatars. This work premiered in Ars Electronica Flesh Factor 1997.
