EX-SITU CONSERVATION:
Colony Relocation for Electronic Detritus

Giclée photogtaphic prints, cotton paper
24 x 36 in
2014
A photographic series documenting electronic elements and machines as surviving artifacts in natural landscapes. In each image, machine parts and electronic components are placed in natural environments, posed like species struggling to survive outside their original habitats. These photographs capture objects as relics of human ingenuity, now facing obsolescence. The work reflects on our tendency to anthropomorphize machines, our nostalgia for outdated tools, and the accelerating cycle of invention and obsolescence. It invites viewers to consider the environmental cost of technological progress and the fragile balance between preservation and loss.
